Nicaragua's Sheynnis Palacios made history by clinching the title of Miss Universe for 2023, marking a significant milestone as the first victory for her country in the prestigious international beauty pageant. The 72nd edition of the Miss Universe pageant unfolded on Saturday night at the Jose Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador.

Palacios stood out among 84 contestants, triumphing over Miss India Shweta Sharda and securing her place in history. The official Instagram page of Miss Universe joyfully announced her win, stating, "MISS UNIVERSE 2023 is @sheynnispalacios_of!"

The crown was gracefully passed on to Palacios by the outgoing Miss Universe, USA's R'Bonney Gabriel, who had held the esteemed title for the year 2022. Notably, Miss Thailand Anntonia Porsild secured the position of the first runner-up, while Miss Australia Moraya Wilson earned the title of the second runner-up.

Adding to the glamour of the evening, the ceremony featured a captivating performance by renowned American singer-songwriter John Legend, who mesmerized the audience with his popular track "All of Me."
