India celebrates Independence Day with Enthusiasm

The 78th anniversary of Indian Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at Pandit Sheelbhadra Yaji Park in Freedom Fighter Colony, New Delhi. The event, organized by the colony residents, was marked by the hoisting of the national flag by Advocate Sh. Prakash Dwivedi, accompanied by the singing of the national anthem, uniting the community in a shared spirit of patriotism.

The celebration was graced by the presence of Lt. Gen (Retd.) Shri Satish Dua Ji as the Chief Guest, and Senior Advocate Shri J P Sharma Ji as the Special Guest. Among other notable attendees were Shri Tej Singh Bundela, Editor of Shrestha Matribhoomi Magazine, the Principal of Secondary School Sangam Vihar, and Sadhvi Deepti Jain. All the distinguished guests expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the patriots who participated in the event, honoring the heroes who sacrificed for the nation's freedom.

In his address, Lt. Gen (Retd.) Shri Satish Dua Ji highlighted the significance of the day, reminding everyone of the hard-won freedom achieved after 200 years of struggle. He paid tribute to the great revolutionaries whose sacrifices liberated India from British rule on August 15, 1947. Advocate Prakash Dwivedi, who presided over the program, emphasized the importance of this day for every Indian, noting that the freedom we enjoy today is a result of the unwavering courage and dedication of countless freedom fighters.

The event concluded with a tree plantation drive, promoting environmental protection. Residents were encouraged to plant trees to contribute to a greener future. The program ended on a sweet note with the distribution of sweets, leaving everyone with a sense of pride and responsibility towards the nation.
