TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, marking his fourth term in the role. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 11:27 am at Kesarapalli IT Park near Gannavaram Airport, on the outskirts of Vijayawada.

On Tuesday, the Telugu Desam Legislature Party and NDA partners elected Naidu as their leader. Leaders of the NDA, comprising TDP, BJP, and Janasena, plan to meet Governor S. Abdul Nazeer to stake their claim to form the government, with an invitation from the Governor to form the government expected by Tuesday evening.

Along with Naidu, other leaders likely to be sworn in include TDP General Secretary and Naidu’s son, Nara Lokesh, and Janasena leader N. Manohar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries are expected to attend the ceremony.

Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad, reviewing arrangements, stated that the Prime Minister is scheduled to leave Delhi for Gannavaram Airport at 8:20 am, arriving by 10:40 am on Wednesday. According to the tentative schedule, Modi will reach the venue by 10:55 am to participate in the ceremony from 11 am to 12:30 pm. He is expected to return to the airport at 12:40 pm and depart for Bhubaneswar at 12:45 pm.

Naidu first became Chief Minister in 1995, serving two terms at the helm of united Andhra Pradesh until 2004. His third term began post-bifurcation in 2014, where he served until 2019. After losing the 2019 elections, he remained an opposition leader until 2024. Following a landslide victory in the 2024 elections, he is returning for his fourth term. The NDA won a significant victory in the recent simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, securing 164 Assembly seats and 21 Lok Sabha seats.
