Red tape replaced with Red carpet for investors in UP: PM Modi

Red tape replaced with Red carpet for investors in UP: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the transformation of Uttar Pradesh (UP) under the "double-engine" government, emphasizing the shift from a bureaucratic "red tape" culture to an investor-friendly "red carpet" environment. Speaking at a groundbreaking ceremony for projects exceeding Rs 10 lakh crore, Modi credited the collaborative efforts of the central and state governments for fostering an atmosphere conducive to trade, development, and trust.

Highlighting the stark contrast from seven to eight years ago marked by prevalent crime and unrest, Modi lauded UP's progress in shedding its negative image and fostering an environment ripe for investment and job creation. He attributed this turnaround to the efficient governance of the "double-engine" government.

In a veiled jab at the Congress, Modi criticized their past reluctance to award Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor, to B R Ambedkar. He contrasted this with his administration's recognition of iconic leaders like Chaudhary Charan Singh, symbolizing a departure from partisan politics.

Modi underscored his government's unwavering commitment to farmer welfare and inclusive development, promising to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of various schemes.

He lauded UP's achievements under BJP's governance, highlighting significant advancements in exports, electricity production, and infrastructure development, particularly the expansion of expressways. Modi credited the state's vibrant micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector for contributing to UP's progress, citing initiatives like "One District, One Product" and the Vishwakarma Scheme as catalysts for growth.

Emphasizing the reduction in crime and the expansion of a conducive business culture, Modi painted a picture of UP as a beacon of progress and opportunity. The event, attended by dignitaries including Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, showcased the launch of 14,000 projects across various sectors, reflecting the state's commitment to attracting investment and fostering economic growth.

The ceremony, attended by industrialists, global and Indian company representatives, and foreign envoys, underscored UP's emergence as a dynamic investment destination under the visionary leadership of the "double-engine" government.
