Actor Sonu Sood, who will next be seen in the Akshay Kumar-starrer historical drama Prithviraj, says he has completed shooting his portions for the film and adds that the makers are eyeing a suitable date in 2021 to release the film, once the situation gets normal and the audience returns to theatres.
"I have completed the shooting of ‘Prithiviraj'. They are planning to release the film when the (Covid) situation gets better," Sonu told IANS.
"There are two movies in South (film industry). One of them is releasing this month and the other one will release after some time," he said about his upcoming roster, adding that there are a couple of films planned in Bollywood, too.
Prithviraj is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and produced by Yash Raj Films. The film features Akshay as Prithviraj Chauhan while former Miss World Manushi Chhillar makes her Hindi film debut as his love interest Sanyogita. Talking about the song, Sonu said: "I got many offers to feature in music videos but this one was very special. In this song, we have shown what kind of sacrifices our soldiers make in their personal life when they are out there to protect the country. I really liked its concept and that's why I decided to say yes."

Vikas Gupta, also known as the Mastermind on Bigg Boss 14, has reportedly come out of the house on medical grounds.
while several unconfirmed reports have emerged claiming that Vikas has stepped out of the house due to his deteriorating health, there is no clarity if he will be back once he gets better.
Vikas was not keeping well due to a throat infection over the past few days, and admitted to the fact, too. He is also going through a tough time in personal life, with relationship with his family going sour.
This is the second time that Vikas comes out of the house. Earlier, he was ousted after getting physically violent with fellow housemate Arshi Khan. Vikas, who entered the ongoing season as a challenger, pushed Arshi into the swimming pool, following which he was told to leave the show.
Meanwhile, there are also reports claiming that Manu Punjabi, who came out of the house after suffering a pancreatitis attack, might return to the house.
Not much of what has been happening on Bigg Boss in its ongoing season 14 has seemed exciting so far and it seems, as a final desperate push in the run-up to the final weeks, the makers have decided to get superstar host Salman Khan into the ring.
Over the past days, Salman has been newsmaker on the show more than the housemates. From crying to going ballistic, to making beds to engaging in theatrics as never before, Salman's footages are getting increasingly theatrical on the show.
From entering the house to making bed to crying during an eviction, superstar Salman seems to be more emotionally invested in the ongoing edition of Bigg Boss, and that has turned out to be a highlight of an otherwise dull season.
This weekend, Salman entered the house and cleaned the bedside of Rakhi Sawant after Nikki Tamboli refused her duties of household chores. "No work is small. Ye same cheez picture ya serial me karne ke liye milti to aap log full performance karte isko (you would have given the full performance if you were asked to do this very job as part of a film or TV serial)," Salman said to the contestants as he left the bedroom.
Soon after, while announcing the eviction of Jasmin Bhasin, Salman shed tears while calming Jasmin's boyfriend Aly Goni down.
This is the first time when Salman was seen getting emotional during an eviction in the history of "Bigg Boss".
Last year too, Salman had entered the house several times, once to clean the house and once to sort out things between Rashami Desai and Arhaan Khan after revealing that the latter is married and has a kid.
The idea should work well with hardcore fans. After being associated with Bigg Boss for so many years, if Salman gives out the vibe that he is emotionally affected by whatever goes on in the show, it could be an easy way to keeps the viewers hooked even as the season seems to lose its steam midway.
After all, this edition of Bigg Boss has been more about the antics -- from the seniors concept to getting previous contestants inside the house as challengers. Only time will tell if Salman Khan's emotional show is able to lift Bigg Boss fortunes in its season 14 in an overall disappointing season.
"Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" completes 12 years on Tuesday and Hina Khan, who shot to fame with her debut fiction role as the telly bahu Akshara Singhania in the mega soap, says the response she received for the role still overwhelms her after all these years.
"After 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' and Akshara came into my life, it definitely changed things around for me," recalls Hina. "People associated me so strongly with the show and character that it did become a name in every household. The love, appreciation and positive response I received for the role is something that overwhelms me till date," shares the actor, who had a fruitful eight-year-long run with the show.
Hina feels the show works because it continues to maintain values that are cherished by the middle-class India households it primarily caters to.
"The concept of a joint family, traditions, values and being there for your loved ones through the good and the bad days is what worked well for the show. At the end of the day our Indian culture is all about family and staying true to our roots and customs. Over the years, ‘Yeh Rishta…' has managed to maintain these elements well into the show," shares Hina.
She clearly loves Akshara as much as her fans do. "Akshara was a soul filled with positivity and so much love, warmth and care, which was the most beautiful part about the character. Her family was the start and end point of her life, and the way Akshara has loved and looked out for them in those eight years is what I thoroughly enjoyed portraying," she says.
Indeed, Akshara changed a lot in Hina's life. In the past 12 years, she has walked the Cannes red carpet, been a reality TV star on Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi, had her brush with Bollywood and has also cemented her status as one of the highest paid stars of the Indian television industry.
"My journey post ‘Yeh Rishta…' has been full of surprises and wonderful opportunities. I really got a chance to experiment with the kind of roles I wanted to try out, the kind of mediums I wanted to be a part of and explore other spaces as an actor. I am happy with the projects I have been a part of over the last few years, as each of them has contributed a lot to my personal and professional growth in many ways," she adds.
Hina says she is happy to see how big the show has become. "I think it is fantastic that the show has been able to survive this long. It has become a brand of its own, and it is definitely considered to be one of the most iconic shows on television at the moment," she says.
Having toplined eight of the 12 years of the show's run, she has no single memory that has particularly stuck in her mind. "Eight long years have given me tons of memories to cherish for a lifetime. There is nothing I can specifically pick out. Every day on the 'Yeh Rishta…' set was a memorable one, and those days gave me some of the best moments of my life," Hina signs off.
New Delhi, Jan 11 (IANS) Actor Randeep Hooda opened up on his Hollywood ambition saying he wants to be part of great stories in the West, and stay away from typecast Indian roles.
Last year, Randeep made an action-packed entry in Hollywood as Saju in the web film "Extraction", starring Chris Hemsworth and David Harbour.
Asked how he wants to explore his career in the West, Randeep told IANS: "I want to explore it the same way I have explored it here."
"I want to be a part of great stories, hopefully great series and get roles that are not typecast Indian roles only, like in 'Extraction' it wasn't. I am looking to do more of that and I would like to do more action. I want to work more and more over there, there's no doubt about that," he added.
At the moment, the actor has lent his voice for "Ladakh Warriors: The Sons Of The Soil" in Hindi. The show depicts the training that the ‘Snow Warriors' go through, at one of the highest regimental centres in the world. "Ladakh Warriors: The Sons of the Soil" is streaming on discovery+ in India.
In Bollywood, he will be seen in the much-awaited film "Radhe", starring Salman Khan, and "Unfair N Lovely".
Mumbai, Dec 31 (IANS) None of the high-profile Bollywood launches in 2020 happened owing to the pandemic, so several aspiring actors are looking forward to the year that is coming up. A mix of star kids and outsiders are scheduled to enter Bollywood over the next 12 months.
IANS takes a look at the names who will most likely create waves:
The Telugu superstar, who gained all-India popularity with his 2017 Telugu blockbuster "Arjun Reddy", will be seen alongside Ananya Panday in Dharma Productions' upcoming film directed by Puri Jagannadh. Promoted as a pan-India film, the project is aimed at showcasing Deverakonda as an all-India star material.
Action hero Suniel Shetty's son Ahan is all set to hit the big screen opposite the "Student Of The Year 2" actress Tara Sutaria in "Tadap". The announcement of the Milan Luthria directorial was made last year. The film is a remake of the 2018 Telugu romantic drama "RX 100" that became a big hit.
She brought home the Miss World crown in 2017, and is now all set to debut in Bollywood with the period drama "Prithviraj", starring Akshay Kumar in the title role of the warrior king Prithviraj Chauhan. Manushi plays Prithivraj's lover Sanyogita. The Yash Raj Films historical, directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, was initially eyeing a Diwali 2020 release, but had to be pushed back owing to the pandemic.
Rashmika is an actress in the Telugu and Kannada film industries, and has done a Tamil film, too. She makes her Bollywood debut with "Mission Majnu" opposite Sidharth Malhotra. The espionage thriller, directed by Shantanu Bagchi, is inspired by a true story set in the 1970s. There are reports that she has bagged another Bollywood film that stars Amitabh Bachchan.
Early stills of his debut film "Bad Boy" drew comparisons with the handsome features of his father, yesteryears' superstar Mithun Chakraborty. The youngster is ready to take on all the comparisons and is excited about the romantic comedy film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Namashi describes his debut feature as a "fun and youthful film". He is paired with debutant Amrin Qureshi, daughter of Sajid Qureshi, who is the producer of the film.
Son of veteran actor Danny Denzongpa, Rinzing will show his action avatar in "Squad". His debut film has also been delayed due to the pandemic. He has been cast opposite Malvika, who is the niece of veteran actress Anita Raaj. Many would remember Malvika as the young Pooja, or Poo in Karan Johar's 2001 directorial "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham".
The daughter of composer Rajesh Roshan is yet to make an official announcement about her Bollywood debut, but there have been rumours. What added fuel was her cousin, actor Hrithik Roshan, sharing social media posts about her and writing positive words like "Proud of you Pashmina" on Instagram.
