Indian Coast Guard Seizes ?600 Crore in Drugs

The Indian Coast Guard made a significant interception today, seizing a suspicious Pakistani boat carrying nearly 86 kg of drugs valued at ?600 crore. Acting on actionable intelligence, the Coast Guard collaborated with the Anti-terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to crack down on a drug trafficking syndicate in the region.

This operation involved a coordinated effort using ships and aircraft to maximize effectiveness. Among the key assets deployed was the Coast Guard ship Rajratan, which hosted officials from both the NCB and ATS.

Despite the Pakistani vessel's attempts to evade capture, the vigilant Rajratan successfully identified and intercepted it. A specialized team from the ship conducted a thorough search, confirming the presence of the illicit narcotics.

"In a swift overnight operation based on intelligence, the Indian Coast Guard apprehended approximately 86 kg of narcotics valued at ?600 crore from a Pakistani boat, along with 14 crew members," stated the Coast Guard in a press release.

The seized boat, along with its crew, is now being escorted to Porbandar for further investigation. The Coast Guard emphasized the effectiveness of their tactics, noting that no evasive maneuvers by the suspect boat could evade the determined efforts of the Rajratan.

"The swift and resolute actions of the ICG ship Rajratan thwarted all attempts of the drug-laden boat to escape. Our specialized team confirmed the presence of a significant quantity of narcotics after a thorough search," the Coast Guard highlighted.

This operation showcases the robust collaboration between Indian security agencies in combating transnational crime, particularly in the maritime domain.
