The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids at the residence of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra in connection with the cash-for-query case. Simultaneously, raids were also carried out at other locations in Kolkata. These actions followed the filing of an FIR against the former TMC MP by the CBI on Thursday, following directives from the anti-corruption ombudsman Lokpal.
The Lokpal's directives stemmed from a preliminary inquiry by the CBI into allegations made by BJP Lok Sabha member Nishikant Dubey against Mahua Moitra. The Lokpal instructed the CBI to conduct a comprehensive investigation into all aspects of the complaints against her within a timeframe of six months.
