Sanjay Singh AAP MP Gets Bail

Sanjay Singh AAP MP Gets Bail

The Supreme Court granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh, questioning the Enforcement Directorate (ED) about the reasons for his more than six-month detention without a trial or the recovery of an alleged bribe of ?2 crore. The court pointed out that no evidence had been found, stating that there was no trace of the money supposedly received by the AAP for liquor licenses.

The court instructed Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, representing the ED, to discuss with the agency whether further custody of Mr. Singh was necessary. After the ED stated that it didn't need Mr. Singh and would grant bail, he was released. This development reflects the court's scrutiny of the ED's actions and its insistence on legal procedures and evidence before prolonged detention without trial.
