PM Says Conspirators Behind Red Fort Blast Won’t Be Spared

PM Says Conspirators Behind Red Fort Blast Won’t Be Spared

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday vowed that those behind the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort “will not be spared.” Speaking in Bhutan’s Thimphu, he said he was “in touch throughout the night” with investigating agencies and assured that the “conspirators will be brought to justice.”

A powerful explosion tore through a white Hyundai i20 near the Red Fort metro station on Monday evening, killing nine people and injuring 20 others. The blast, which occurred at 6:52 pm, damaged several vehicles and sent shockwaves through the capital. The car was owned by Umar Mohammad, a doctor from Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, who is suspected to have links with the Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed. Umar is believed to have been driving the car when the device exploded.

Investigations have revealed connections between the Red Fort blast and a “white-collar terror” module spanning Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Days earlier, police seized 2,900 kg of explosives from premises in Faridabad linked to Kashmiri doctors tied to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.

Government sources confirmed that “Operation Sindoor,” launched after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, remains active, with India declaring that any act of terror will be treated as an act of war.
