Major Terror Module Busted in NCR

Major Terror Module Busted in NCR

In a major security alert near the national capital, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have uncovered 350 kg of suspected ammonium nitrate, along with an assault rifle and 20 timers, from Faridabad, Haryana. The recovery follows the arrest of Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather, a Kashmiri doctor from Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur, for allegedly putting up Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) posters in Srinagar last month.

Investigations revealed that the explosives were stored with another doctor, Dr. Mujammil Shakeel, a resident of Pulwama, who works at Al-Falah Hospital, Faridabad. Shakeel has also been arrested. The breakthrough came after Rather’s interrogation, which led police to the Faridabad site.

According to Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta, besides the explosives, police seized a pistol, three magazines, and a walkie-talkie set.

The case traces back to October 27, when JeM posters surfaced in Srinagar, prompting an investigation that exposed Rather’s terror links. Police later recovered an assault rifle from his locker at Government Medical College, Anantnag, where he worked until last year.

Authorities are now probing how such a large cache of explosives was transported and stored undetected near Delhi, amid fears of a wider terror network involving educated professionals.
