Zen Tech Launches 'Made in India' AI-Powered Robot For Global Market

India's annual defence production has reached a record high of approximately ?1.27 lakh crore in 2023-24, reflecting the success of the Make in India programme. In this context, Zen Technologies, a leading provider of anti-drone technology and defence training solutions, has introduced several innovative products for the global defence market in collaboration with its subsidiary, AI Turing Technologies.

Among the new offerings is Prahasta, an AI-powered robotic quadruped that utilizes LiDAR (light detection and ranging) and reinforcement learning to generate real-time 3D terrain maps. This technology enhances mission planning, navigation, and threat assessment capabilities.

Zen Technologies has also unveiled the Hawkeye anti-drone camera system, the Barbarik-URCWS remote-controlled weapon station, and the Sthir Stab 640, a robust stabilized sight designed primarily for armored vehicles, infantry combat vehicles (ICVs), and boats.

“These innovations represent a significant advancement in autonomous defence operations,” said Zen Technologies' Chairman and Managing Director, Ashok Atluri. “We believe the launch of these products will raise awareness around the need to integrate advanced robotics into combat and reconnaissance missions. Our self-funded products will further enable Zen to offer an expanded range of cutting-edge technologies to both current and prospective clients.”

Zen Technologies claims that the Barbarik-URCWS is the world’s lightest remote-controlled weapon station based in Hyderabad. It offers precise targeting capabilities for calibers ranging from 5.56 mm to 7.62 mm, suitable for ground vehicles and naval vessels. This innovation maximizes battlefield effectiveness while minimizing personnel risk.

Shares of Zen Technologies settled at ?1,362.00 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Monday, reflecting a 5 percent increase from the previous close
