President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Indian-American entrepreneur and tech visionary Sriram Krishnan as the Senior White House Policy Advisor on Artificial Intelligence. Krishnan will serve under the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, focusing on advancing U.S. leadership in AI.

Announcing the appointment, Trump stated, “Sriram Krishnan will work closely with David O. Sacks, the White House AI & Crypto Czar, to shape and coordinate AI policies across government. His extensive experience will ensure America remains at the forefront of artificial intelligence innovation.”

Krishnan, an accomplished author and venture capitalist, boasts a remarkable career leading product teams at Microsoft, Twitter, Facebook, Yahoo!, and Snap. Notably, he began his professional journey as a founding member of Microsoft’s Windows Azure. In his new role, Krishnan will collaborate with the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, Krishnan said, “I’m honored to serve our country and contribute to maintaining American leadership in AI, working closely with David Sacks.”

The Indian-American community warmly welcomed Krishnan’s appointment.
