NMMC: Tallest Flag Soars by Day, Tricolor Lights Shine by Night

Residents of Navi Mumbai gathered on Tuesday at Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) Headquarters, Belapur to mark the nation's 77th anniversary of Independence. Flag hoisting was followed by patriotic songs and theatrical performances before Rajesh Narvekar, Commissioner at NMMC, addressed the audience.

The Chief of NMMC unfurled the National ?ag, observed the parade and took salute at the march past presented by contingents of Navi Mumbai Fire?ghters and Police.

As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the Headquarters was decorated with a rangoli showcasing the national ?ag, tricolor ?ower decorations, and a sizable #TirangaWaaliSel?e point. Citizens were spotted enthusiastically taking photos with their families. At night, the headquarters is illuminated with the tricolor lights.

The two-hour Independence-day program began at 10:00 a.m., commemorating India's struggle for freedom and developing a feeling of patriotism and a profound connection to the nation's past. The celebration began with patriotic anthems sung by children of NMMC School and Karave Gaon. A group of artists staged a play on 'Mazi Mati, Maza Desh' as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign. The play emphasized NMMC programs such as RRR on Wheels to encourage 'Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse,' garbage segregation, thus

Raising awareness about cleanliness in Navi Mumbai. In his address, the NMMC Chief Rajesh Narvekar pledged “Nishchay Kela Number Pahila," to achieve ?rst place for NMCC in the next Swachh Survekshan (cleanliness survey). He stated that the NMMC aims to hire interns for the Swachh Bharat Mission 2023 in order to instill excellent practices among the city's young people.” He also thanked the NMMC employees for their dedication and hard work, along with additional commissioners Sujata Dhole and Vijaykumar Mhasal.
