India thrash Bangladesh in the 1st Test Match

Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav claimed 8 wickets, including a five-for in the first innings, and Cheteshwar Pujara starred with the scores of 90 and 102 not out as India defeated Bangladesh by 188 runs in the first Test of the two-match series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. The guests had posted 404 runs after KL Rahul won the toss and decided to bat first. India then bundled out Bangladesh for 150, gaining a first-innings lead of 254. Kuldeep Yadav returned figures of 5 for 40. The KL Rahul-led side declared its second innings for 258 for 2, setting a 513-run target for Bangladesh. Shakib Al Hasan showed good resilience with his 84-run knock but he lacked support from other ends as India bundled out his team for 324. Axar Patel registered a four-wicket haul in the final innings, while Kuldeep took three.

Defending a massive target of 513, India defeated Bangladesh by 188 runs on Day 5 of their first Test match, at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Sunday. The visitors bowled out the hosts for 324 in the first session on Day 5. A debut century by Zakir Hasan on Day 4 set the game for a final-day thriller. Zakir slammed 100 runs off 224 balls, packed with 13 fours and a six. On Day 5, Shakib Al Hasan resumed batting with Mehidy Hasan, but the latter lost his wicket early. Shakib led a solo show, registering a half-century, and slamming 84 runs off 108 balls, including six sixes and six fours.

India must seriously look at the weakness in its bowling attack since Bangladesh was able to score 324 runs in the fourth inning of the test match is an eye-opener for India.
