Hindus Won't Gain from UCC: Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized the BJP for using the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) as a political tactic ahead of elections, stating that Hindus won't benefit from it. At a rally in Jangipur, Murshidabad district, Banerjee accused the BJP of divisive strategies due to anticipated defeat early in polling.

"During elections, they exploit issues to incite communal tensions. Now they push the UCC, claiming it harms a specific community. But it's just political talk, offering no advantage to Hindus," she asserted.

Banerjee noted a rising anti-BJP sentiment post-initial voting phases. "From the first two phases, it's clear BJP is losing. This trend will continue; their defeat is imminent," she predicted.

She cautioned voters against supporting Congress and CPI(M), labeling them "BJP agents" in Bengal. "CPI(M) and Congress are BJP's allies here," she alleged.
