The Supreme Court has granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal until June 1, coinciding with the final phase of voting in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Kejriwal, facing charges in the alleged Delhi liquor excise policy scam and arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21, is required to surrender to prison authorities by June 2.

Under the conditions of bail, similar to those imposed on AAP leader Sanjay Singh during his interim relief, Kejriwal is permitted to engage in political activities. Singh, a Rajya Sabha MP arrested in the same case last October, secured bail after six months in detention, enabling him to participate in party campaigning. Kejriwal is expected to benefit from a similar allowance, allowing him to actively campaign for the Aam Aadmi Party in the upcoming elections.
