Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP and Siddharth Roy Kapur’s Roy Kapur Films have brought in Golden Globes nominated Ivanhoe Pictures, producers of the recent blockbuster Hollywood romantic-comedy Crazy Rich Asians, as a co-producer and co-investing partner for their much anticipated Hindi language family drama, The Sky is Pink (tentative title).

Starring Priyanka Chopra, it is  written and directed by National Award winning filmmaker Shonali Bose and is based on a true story.

Superstar Rajinikanth has revealed that his upcoming Tamil action drama Petta, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is an entertaining throwback to the kind of films he did in the 1990s. At its audio launch, Rajinikanth opened up about the project and described it as an “action-packed entertainer”.

“When Sembian and Kannan from Sun Pictures came home and requested me to act in their production, I immediately agreed. Karthik Subbaraj had pitched a story to me. It was on my mind and as I listened to other filmmakers, I wasn’t quite satisfied,” he said.

One Direction might reunite

Singer Liam Payne has hinted that he will reunite with his former One Direction bandmates for Christmas.

He said: “I spoke to Niall, we spent like four hours on FaceTime, I hadn’t spoken to him in ages. I hope to (see him over Christmas). I mean, the thing about it is I can understand that we’re all quite tired. Like I was saying to him the other night, ‘Oh I’ll come over or whatever’ and then he flaked me twice so I was like ‘look, listen, I’ll just text you next week and we’ll see what’s happening. Just let me know when you’re available’.”
