Dog’s Cleaning and Grooming at Pet Spa Centersby Opinion Express June 11, 2018 0 comments
Take your four legged friend this summer at a spa center for cleaning and grooming. There is a lot happening at dog spas, from haircuts to pawdicures, to baths.
Dog Spa and Pet Shop, Red Paws Pet Spa, Poochmate, Scoopy Scrub, Canine Elite Pet Care Services, Heads Up For Tails and many others are making life human for dogs.
Pet grooming is crucial not just for the pet hygiene but for owner’s health as well. “Grooming prevents illness and skin diseases. It removes fleas, ticks and other pests from your dog’s coat. It removes loose fur while they are shedding. Also, your pet gets a fresh look,” Sanjeev Kumar, owner of the Scoopy Scrub, says.
Grooming has now become easier, thanks to the mobile pet grooming trucks. They come to your doorstep after you fix an appointment. One such service provider is Flying Fur. It is a huge success as it fitted well with the busy schedule of pet parents and has made grooming of pets convenient. They groom nearly 25 to 27 pets per day which is completed by three trucks jointly.
“The entire van, including the equipment is cleaned and sanitised after every grooming session. Only one pet is groomed at a time in the van,” Jessica, Flying Fur manager, says.
Opting for a professional job is always better than grooming at home because they know better about it. You can’t do everything that is required for complete grooming. “At least three grooming sessions are required in a month depending on the breed. You can do two at home and one at the salon in a month,” says Kumar who specialises in breed specific styling and grooms all kinds of dog, cats, hamsters and other pets.
The fear of infections makes pet parents hesitant to take their pets to grooming centre. “Pets may catch infections if the place is unhygienic or if there is even one tick. There is always a risk of skin diseases. To prevent this, we must sterilise all the equipment and clean the place properly after every pet session,” Ashita Mathew, head, grooming vertical, Heads Up For Tails, tells you.
Before choosing the spa, visit the place and check the hygiene, location and work method. “You should also check the equipment and the quality of products. Also check the expertise and qualifications of the groomers and whether they are friendly around the pets,” Kumar says.
Spas and salon services start from Rs 500 and go up to Rs 3000.
