NLC India Limited (NLCIL) recently held a two-day national level seminar on ‘Best Practices and Latest Trends in Procurement Process’ at Neyveli. 200 delegates including 55 delegates from various public sector enterprises (PSEs) and senior officials of NLCIL took part in the event.
The seminar was inaugurated by NLCIL’s CMD, Rakesh Kumar, where he said that, public procurement accounts for more than 20 per cent of the country’s GDP and therefore it is immensely important to ensure transparency, accountability and economically competitive price for goods and services. He further said that e-marketing has already gained momentum in NLCIL.
The key discussion topics at the seminar included the Acts and Guidelines on Public Procurement Policy of the Union Government with reference to Micro Small Enterprises, Domestic Suppliers, Start-up Companies, Make in India Policy and procurement through the newly developed Government Procurement Portal GeM and their compliance in PSUs and e-auction.
