Winter Skincare with Argan Oilby Opinion Express December 3, 2018 0 comments
Argan oil should figure in every winter skincare regime, tells cosmetologist Pooja Nagdev.
The nutrient rich argan oil is known as liquid gold. It is packed with vitamins that fortify hair and skin from within. The tree, which is endemic in Morocco, is known as blessed by the gods.
With nutrients like vitamin A and E, omega-6 fatty acids and linoleic acid it acts as a great conditioner for hair. It aids massively in promoting well-built and strong hair that is split-ends free.
As a moisturiser it hydrates and softens. It’s an ideal product to give your skin a natural boost since it gets absorbed easily which makes it a great natural moisturiser. Since it is non-greasy, it helps heal damaged skin cells. Its antioxidant effect makes argan oil the ideal anti–aging product. It restores elasticity and leaves skin and lips feeling plumper and softer.
For the scalp and hair, it is the best conditioner. Not only does it treat split-ends it also tames frizzy hair making it more manageable and adding a healthy attractive shine. Problems like dermatitis, dandruff and dry scalp that causes itchiness burning and cause hair follicle clogging which discourages hair growth are also treatable with argan oil therapy.
When you regularly style your hair with straighteners or curling tongs they get damaged and brittle. It will eventually look dull but brushing a few drops of the oil to damp hair after a wash and then conditioning it normally will hydrate your hair and give back hair its natural shine. To restore its natural glory, make a blend with pure essential oils like rosemary, chamomile, castor, sandalwood, lavender, geranium, hibiscus with either almond oil, coconut, argan oil, sesame seed oil, olive oil, bhringraj oil, brahmi oil or jojoba oil. Warm the oil since it thins it and makes it easier to penetrate.
