Trump Threatens Hamas with Severe Repercussions Over Hostage Delays

The future of Gaza hangs in uncertainty as former U.S. President Donald Trump doubles down on his controversial proposal to "take over" the territory, warning that failure to release hostages could lead to the collapse of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Trump issued an ultimatum, demanding that Hamas release all hostages by Saturday, or else, “all hell will break loose.” While he left details vague, he asserted that Israel could make its own decision, but he personally believed the ceasefire should be revoked if the deadline was not met.

His remarks follow Hamas’s recent warning that it might delay further hostage-prisoner exchanges, jeopardizing the fragile truce that has been in place since January 19. Trump's threats signal a potential escalation in the ongoing conflict.

A key element of Trump’s Gaza plan is the forced displacement of over two million Palestinians, whom he claims “have no alternative” but to leave due to the destruction caused by Israel’s military campaign. He described his vision as a “real estate development for the future” and suggested relocating Palestinians to newly built communities outside Gaza. When asked if they would have the right to return, he bluntly responded, “No, they wouldn’t.”

The proposal has drawn international condemnation, with critics labeling it a de facto endorsement of ethnic cleansing. Trump also threatened to withhold aid from Jordan and Egypt if they refused to accept Palestinian refugees.

Despite the sweeping nature of his claims, no formal discussions have taken place at the Pentagon or State Department regarding the logistics or legal feasibility of a U.S. takeover of Gaza. However, Trump's proposal has received backing from Israel’s far-right settler movement and evangelical groups in the U.S., who support the annexation of Palestinian territories
