Congress leader, G23 member, and Former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor have got the go-ahead from Congress chief Sonia Gandhi to run for the post of the party president, sources told NDTV. Shashi Tharoor has been part of the group of 28 leaders who have been pressing for reforms.
The nod of AICC Prez Sonia Gandhi came hours after her meeting with Shashi Tharoor today, soon after he publicly backed a call for reforms in the party.
