Tensions between Iran and Israel have escalated sharply following a series of direct threats from senior Iranian military officials. Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) General Ebrahim Jabbari declared that Iran would "raze Tel Aviv and Haifa to the ground" as part of Operation True Promise 3, the latest phase in Iran’s strategy against Israel.
Jabbari’s remarks come amid a surge in hostile rhetoric from Iranian leaders. Brigadier Generals Ali Fadavi and Amir Ali Hajizadeh have also vowed military action, coinciding with reports of increased IRGC missile production. A recent intelligence report claimed Iran received a 1,000-ton shipment of rocket fuel precursors from China and unveiled a new underground missile base, further heightening concerns over regional stability.
In response, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar issued a stark warning: "If the Jewish people have learned anything from history, it is this: if your enemy says his goal is to annihilate you—believe him. We are ready."
Amid growing fears of a military confrontation, The Jerusalem Post, citing a forthcoming article in Middle East Quarterly, reported that now may be the optimal time for a joint U.S.-Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Colin Winston, a former CIA official and AIPAC research head, argued that Iran is nearing the production of weapons-grade uranium and that diplomatic intelligence-gathering is no longer a viable strategy.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned in January that any Israeli or U.S. strike on Iran’s nuclear sites would trigger an “all-out war.” With reports suggesting Israel could launch a preemptive strike by midyear, the Middle East faces an increasingly volatile future.
