India’s Power Now Commands Global Respect: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat

Speaking at a programme at Ravinath Ashram in Harmara, Jaipur, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Saturday that while India remains deeply committed to global harmony and welfare, the world now acknowledges the nation's growing strength. Emphasizing that true peace is heeded only when backed by power, Bhagwat underlined the need for strength as a prerequisite for global influence.

“India does not harbour hatred against anyone,” Bhagwat said, referring to recent developments involving Pakistan, “but the reality is that the language of love and peace is effective only when spoken by the powerful.”

He described this dynamic as an unchangeable aspect of international affairs. “To contribute meaningfully to the welfare of the world, India must be strong. The world has now witnessed our capability,” he asserted.

Highlighting India’s cultural ethos, Bhagwat said that working for global good is not merely diplomacy but a core part of Hindu dharma. “The world’s welfare is our religion,” he remarked, adding that India has always lived by this principle.

Bhagwat also portrayed India as a guiding elder sibling in the region, citing the country's swift assistance to neighbours like Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the Maldives during times of crisis. “India was the first to offer help,” he said.

He spoke of India’s legacy of sacrifice and selfless service, noting figures such as Lord Ram and Bhamashah, whose lives exemplify dedication to the collective good. “This spirit of service is ingrained in our tradition,” he said.

The RSS chief’s address comes at a time when India’s strategic assertiveness and humanitarian outreach are drawing increasing attention worldwide.
