India rejects every allegation made by Trudeau

India rejects every allegation made by Trudeau

India firmly rejected Canada's latest attempts to link Indian agents with criminal gangs, refuting claims that Ottawa had shared credible evidence in connection to the killing of Sikh extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Official sources dismissed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's allegations of covert Indian operations targeting Canadian nationals as baseless.

The diplomatic fallout deepened on Monday when India expelled six Canadian diplomats and withdrew its High Commissioner from Ottawa, following Trudeau's repeated claims linking India to Nijjar's death. "Canadian PM Trudeau's press conference was the same old rhetoric for the same old reasons," remarked a source.

Canadian officials, including Charge d'Affaires Stewart Wheeler, have consistently claimed to have presented credible evidence to India, but Indian sources flatly denied this. "From the outset, Canada's approach has involved making vague accusations and shifting the burden of denial onto India," the source added.

Further, India rejected efforts by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to link Indian agents with criminal entities like the Bishnoi gang, stating that no specific evidence was provided. During the RCMP's briefing, vague references were made to connections involving certain individuals, but clarity was lacking.

The targeting of India’s High Commissioner was also criticized as unjustifiable. "It is absurd that after a year of intensive engagement with the High Commissioner, the Canadian government now chooses to target him," Indian sources stated.
