India Expands Response With Strategic Naval Operations in Arabian Sea

India has broadened its military response to Pakistan’s recent provocations by launching targeted naval operations in the Arabian Sea, senior defence sources confirmed Friday. The move aims to assert maritime superiority and pre-empt potential threats from the sea, following a wave of attempted missile and drone strikes by Pakistan on Indian military sites.

After Operation Sindoor—India’s airstrikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir—Islamabad responded with drone and missile attacks on Indian military installations in Jammu, Pathankot, Udhampur, and Jaisalmer. All threats were neutralised by India’s air defence systems, with no casualties or damage reported.

With Thursday night’s continued missile and drone activity by Pakistan, India countered by disabling multiple Pakistani air defence systems, including one in Lahore. The launch of naval operations adds a critical dimension to India’s response, signalling intent to dominate across land, air, and sea.

The Navy’s swift deployment in the Arabian Sea is designed to monitor, intercept, and neutralise any hostile movement, effectively boxing in Pakistan's operational range. Analysts suggest this is a calculated step to encircle Pakistan strategically and restrict its maritime leverage.

India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri reiterated that all Indian operations remain precise, focused, and restrained. “We are acting against terror infrastructure. The original escalation began with Pakistan's April 22 attack. Our military response is both defensive and pre-emptive,” he stated.

India has made it clear that continued provocation from Pakistan will be met with multidomain action. The Navy’s active role highlights India's preparedness to respond decisively, not only on the border but in regional waters as well.
